The Original three TENGA SPINNERs are some of the most popular products we have, but with three more rolling on in… just what are the differences?

Back in 2018 TENGA released a set of three new reusable products, the TENGA SPINNERs. Each of these bad boys has an internal coil which makes the SPINNER twist as you insert, sending unbelievable sensations with each stroke. They also featured a handy visual graph to show the differences between the TETRA, HEXA, and SHELL. The factors judged by three criteria: firmness, stimulation and diameter.

But what does that all actually mean? What about the New SPINNERs on the block, and what are the differences really? Well, much like a connoisseur knows the differences between fine red and white wines, we feel it’s our duty to explain the above, and possibly more, to you. So, here we go!

The SPINNER levels

Before we get into what makes each one of this increasingly larger series a beautiful individual in it’s own right, we should cover the levels.

Firmness, stimulation and diameter are the parameters by which both the OG SPINNERs, and the new line are marked against, but it should be understood exactly what each of them means.

Firstly of course, firmness. This is one of the more obvious ones. Each of the SPINNERs features not only the revolutionary interior coil system, but the innovative designs you can expect of most TENGA products. Some of these designs lend themselves to a ‘firmer’ feel. More specifically, the SHELL is designed to have ‘fanned tiles with firm edges’ while the TETRA offers a ‘geometric tiles with mild edges’. Yep, easy to guess which ranks higher here!

Next we have sensations. This once again is a little easier to understand. Which of these guys can offer just a little bit more stimulation than the others. It’s also one of the more evenly ranked, because let’s be honest, we always want to offer top notch sensations with every product at TENGA. Once more though, the TETRA can be counted as a little on the milder side. Only a little, but it all matters, right?

Lastly, the most potentially confusing parameter, diameter. All of the TENGA SPINNERs have an insertion depth of approx. 17cm and an insertion width of approx. 5cm, however, this isn’t quite what we mean. This might actually be a case of the higher number = bigger diameter which means the less tight it is.

Now we have an understanding of the levels, let’s have a recap of the original three SPINNERs, shall we?

The Original TENGA SPINNERs

Firstly the TETRA. This one (my personal favorite from looks and color alone) offers geometric tiles with mild edges. On the level system we see the TETRA ranks as follows:

  • The TETRA has: Firmness Lv3, Stimulation Lv3, Diameter Lv4.5

Next we have the HEXA. This one brings hexagonal tiles with pointed edges to the mix. On the level system the HEXA stacks up as follows:

  • The HEXA has: Firmness Lv4, Stimulation Lv4, Diameter Lv3.5

Lastly we have the SHELL. This one features fanned tiles with firm edges in one of boldest overall sensations. The SHELLs levels are rated like this:

  • Finally, the SHELL has: Firmness Lv4.5, Stimulation Lv4, Diameter Lv3

And that’s a more in-depth look at the original SPINNERs! If we were to add all this together we can see that the TETRA 01 has the most gentle sensations, and they increase in intensity from the HEXA 02 to the SHELL 03, which is the firmest, tightest and has the boldest internal details of all the SPINNERs.

  • Overall intensity of sensations: TETRA 01 -> HEXA 02 -> SHELL 03

So how about the New SPINNERs? Let me introduce you to the new guys!

The New TENGA SPINNERs

First up in the new lineup; the PIXEL. This one (my personal favorite from the new line-up for the same reasons as the TETRA!) offers a spiral of delicate, enveloping pixel-like nodes. The New SPINNERs are still ranked, and so PIXEL ranks up like this:

  • The PIXEL has: Firmness Lv3.5, Stimulation Lv2, Diameter Lv5

Next comes the visually stimulating design of the BEADS. The sensations the BEADS offers is a spiral of varied, alternating spheres. The BEADS can be summarized as follows:

  • The BEADS has: Firmness Lv2.5, Stimulation Lv4.5, Diameter Lv3

Last, but certainly not least is the BRICK. As the name implies, the BRICK goes all out with a spiral of bold, impacting tiles that focuses on pure stimulation. It’s not surprising that the BRICK ranks like this:

  • The BRICK has: Firmness Lv2, Stimulation Lv5, Diameter Lv2

And that’s a more in-depth look at the New SPINNERs! If we were to add all this together we can see that the PIXEL 04 has gentle sensations similar to the TETRA, and they increase in intensity again from the BEADS 05 to the BRICK 04 being the most intense.

  • Overall intensity of sensations: PIXEL 04 -> BEADS 05 -> BRICK 06

New TENGA SPINNER Summary

Just from looking at the rankings, you can already see a noticeable difference in how the New SPINNERs stack up against the previous trilogy. They offer a lot more variety when it comes to their rankings and tend to specialize a lot more in certain areas, leaving it easier to decide on what sensation you’d like to focus on.

How will the New SPINNERs work alongside the OG reusables? Only time will tell, but it’ll be interesting to see how popular they can become against their longer standing predecessors. Which one was your fave out of the original three? Which one entices you the most from the new line-up?
