Much more than just a flower, the cherry blossom is a very important symbol in Japanese culture and a source of great inspiration for one of our sister brands’ (iroha) most popular pleasure products.

Japanese cherry blossom, also known as sakura

If you ever plan to visit or have already visited Japan in Spring, it's most likely that visiting the cherry blossoms was high on the must-see agenda. Indeed, nowhere does cherry blossom season quite like Japan. There are over one hundred cherry tree varieties in Japan, with most varieties producing light pink to white blossoms. However, some may change while they are in bloom. For example, a blossom may open as a white flower and change color to pink over the course of a few days.

There’s even a Japanese word, hanami, specifically devoted to the viewing of cherry blossoms and picnicking beneath them. Now, why am I speaking so much about the cherry blossom? Isn’t this meant to be a blog about sex and pleasure?

iroha SAKURA

If you don’t know already, the pillowy-soft and silky smooth iroha SAKURA is inspired by the shape of Japan’s famed cherry blossom petal (sakura is the Japanese term for cherry blossom trees). The start of a new school year and the coming of spring, the sakura is a symbol of renewal and brighter days ahead.

The blooming of the cherry blossom trees however also symbolizes both life and beauty, as well as their opposites. As the coming of spring promises new life, the blooming of cherry blossoms bring a sense of vitality and vibrancy. At the same time, their short lifespan is a reminder of the fleeting nature of things.

So, what are the other key features of the iroha SAKURA? The cherry-blossom pink SAKURA allows you to pinch and please a variety of erogenous zones thanks to its indented tip, making it ideal for external pleasure. The SAKURA’s unique design and soft material made from iroha’s Soft-Touch Silicone makes it easy to use and comfortable to hold, perfect for anyone who enjoys external pleasure on multiple areas of the body.

Lastly, you can’t fail to notice that the aesthetic pink of the iroha SAKURA reflects the color of its namesake, and is another example of how it has taken inspiration from the cherry blossom. It is no wonder this pleasure item that is so heavily inspired by a key part of Japanese culture is already one of iroha’s best-sellers.

Have you tried any of the pleasure items from iroha. Do let us know what your favourite is!
